1. Does a magnetic bracelet have to be a tight fit around the wrist?

Link bracelet style: The fit should be comfortable, not tight stopping the circulation and not too loose. The magnets should make reasonable contact with the skin, but a magnetic field can operate several cm from the magnet. As a general rule, one finger width between the wrist and the bracelet is a good fit. This should be about 2cm longer than the tight wrist measurement.

Silicon NEO MAX 30: These bracelets contain 30 magnets, so if the bracelet is slightly loose, there are still magnets touching the skin at several points.

2. Why does my copper bangle bracelet discolour and leave a black or green deposit on my wrist?

This is usual for a copper bracelet. All copper bracelets leave a copper deposit. The Copper bracelets form oxides on the surface of the bracelet, which should be absorbed by the body. The oxides may leave a green or black deposit on the wrist. How fast this happens depends on the person, the acid or ph in the skin moisture. How visible this deposit is depends on the amount of oxide produced, which again depends on the person. The copper oxides will have no effect on the magnetic therapy aspect of the bracelet.

3. Should I wear my bracelet 24 hours a day?

There are no hard and fast rules. Experimentation is sometimes required. If trying to treat a strong set of symptom's then wear it as much as possible.

4. Do the magnets need to be in any particular position vis a vis the main arteries?

Bangles: The magnets should roughly align with the pulse points. The six magnet bangles will make this easier.

Link bracelets: These have multiple magnets, so there is greater probability that the magnets align over the arteries.

Additional benefit: There is also an argument that says that a benefit is obtained by having an increase in magnetic energy into the body via a device like a magnetic bracelet. This is based on the fact that the Earths magnetic field has been in slow decline. It has been noted that modern living, for example, not as much outdoor exposure, can block the Earths natural field, resulting in a 'magnetic deficiency' that we may all suffer from. A magnetic device could, no matter what the positioning,  help to alleviate this.

5. I have a bangle, should the open side of the bangle be on the top or bottom of the wrist?  

The open end of the bracelet should be on the underside of the wrist. The magnets will then be nearer the pulse points, as indicated above.

6. How long do the magnets last in a bracelet/bangle?

The effect of time on modern permanent magnets is minimal. Over a period of 10 to 15 years in normal use, a magnet will lose only a small fraction of its magnetisation. Magnets will remain magnetised for several decades.

7. I seem to be getting an allergic reaction, what is causing this?

This is quite rare but when it does occur it is usually related to a metal allergy, in particular nickel. About 2% of the population have some sort of nickel allergy, either mild or more severe. The nickel is a minute part of the composition of the plating over the magnet. All the magnetic products are protected by a cap over the magnet and a further epoxy coating over the magnets. Even with this protection, people with nickel sensitivity can still be affected. Blisters and/or redness normally form around or near the position of the magnets. We suggest, for this kind of reaction, to coat the inside of the bracelet. A coat of clear nail varnish placed over the magnets will form a second barrier. It does not affect the magnet therapy but may help.

8. What are your strongest link bracelets and bangles?

Our Strongest bangles are the HP series, High Power bangles. These have large end magnets which are powerful. Our strongest titanium, stainless steel or copper link bracelets, are the double row of magnets designs. These are more powerful as they have a high number of magnets, a double row of magnets. Effective magnetic strength depends not only on the measured Gauss strength, but also the physical size of the magnet, which influences depth of penetration, and the number of magnets.

9. I have a Titanium metal implant, will magnets have an effect on this?

A magnetic bracelet, of any metal type, will not affect titanium implants, there is no magnetic influence on the metal titanium.

10. Are there safety indications or health contraindications with magnets?

General Precautions: It is advisable that pregnant women or people wearing electrical or electronic medical devices such as a pacemaker or an insulin pump, should not wear magnets. Small magnets should also be kept away from children in case they swallow them. Magnets should not be used near fresh cuts or wounds.

The World Health Organisation (WHO): published a study in 1987 stating that the magnetic strengths typically used in magnetic therapy do not have any detrimental effect on the human body.

11. Can I use my PC or Laptop when wearing a magnetic bracelet?

If the bracelet is place directly over a laptop it may have an effect on the hard drive as it is quite close to the surface.

Smartphones already contain magnets in the speakers and microphones, so usually will not be affected by magnets.  The compass detection function may be affected by the magnets in a bracelet. As a pre-caution, it is best not to place any magnets directly on top of a mobile phone. If the magnets are over one or two inches away it is unlikely to have an effect. Off course all the above applies to any instrument or device that contains strong magnets such as headphones and speakers. 

12.  How do I put my link bracelet on? How does it fasten?

The clasp is a standard hinge clasp used on most types of link bracelets. It unclips at one end and then hooks over the bar at the other end.

13. Can I expose my bracelet to water?

A magnetic bracelet available anywhere, is not totally waterproof only water resistant. The main area of potential water threat is the plating, and the magnets which could rust if exposed continuously to moisture and water.

Our magnets are capped and then coated with resin, which protects them, but with repeated water exposure over time, it is possible that water can get in, it could be in 6 months or it could be in a few years depending on use. Having said that a lot of customers take the risk and use them in the shower as they find it more practical to keep them on. Its a personal decision, but water will degrade the bracelet over time.

16. Will Magnets definitely relieve my symptoms?

Many people do get a benefit from using magnetic therapy, but like all medical interventions, not everybody receives a benefit. Magnetic therapy is part of complementary medicine. This area of medicine has received less funding for research and the research that has been conducted is usually small scale and limited in scope. Anyone who has seriously worked in these areas of medicine know that they can be very useful to many people. But not all areas of complementary medicine are effective and not all people receive benefits.
